Obelis is currently looking for an Accountant!

 

Your role and key responsibilities will be:

  1. Provide professional, high-level and smooth service to internal and external clients.
  2. Perform various tasks associated with the Accounting Department, including: Accounts receivable: preparing client invoices, processing incoming payments, managing outstanding invoices and carrying out collection actions. Accounts payable: processing supplier and vendor invoices.
  3. Processing bank and Visa statements.
  4. Supporting account reconciliations, VAT processes, scorecards, balance sheets and financial reports.
  5. Assist the Payroll Officer with daily payroll-related tasks, including collecting and checking payroll information, maintaining employee records, preparing payroll-related data and following up on payroll matters.
  6. Follow up on tasks assigned to you and ensure their timely and accurate completion.
  7. Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of ISO procedures and provide support with relevant administrative processes.
  8. Provide ad hoc assistance to the Unit and participate in Obelis events.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a similar discipline.
  • 2 to 4 years of professional experience in the field of Finance and Accounting.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Knowledge of Belgian accounting law.
  • Experience with the Belgian payroll system and payroll-related processes.
  • Experience assisting with payroll administration and supporting a Payroll Officer with daily tasks.
  • Applicants must hold an EU work permit.
  • Fluency in English, both written and oral.
  • Fluency in French, both written and oral, is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the accounting database WinBooks is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage workloads efficiently, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Ability to work independently while being a committed and collaborative team player.
  • Flexible, adaptable and self-motivated, with a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and grow continuously.
